Background
About Ashley Worrells
With my B.S in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I am currently in my second year working as a correctional officer with NCDPS at Davidson Correctional Center (D.C.C.) in Lexington, N.C. I have now been promoted to Field Training Officer at D.C.C. and was appointed the Women’s Coordinator of D.C.C. by the Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, where I will represent the facility in a statewide committee formed to help increase female employee retention as well as help create an equal and more positive work environment for not only female employees, but all employees of NCDPS. I am also a member of the ‘All in 2022’ committee at D.C.C, which focuses on overall facility improvements via a myriad of projects. In the next few months, I plan to earn the promotion of a sergeant with NCDPS as well as further my commitment to the current missions of the department, beginning with staff morale and workplace environment improvements.
