About Ashlyn Buckley

I am a Galway native CS student at University of Galway & currently a software engineer intern at Genesys working on the Realtime Analytics team! I first grew an interest in programming when I completed work experience at Romero Games, Galway in 2019. My main interests are machine learning and data analytics. Since then I have explored many areas of computer science, in my course and beyond. I am most proficient in Java but I've coded in many languages including - JS, python, R, MatLab, C++, C, SQL and Bash scripting. In addition to languages, I also have experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Druid & AWS. I also spend a lot of my free time contributing to peer organisations. I've been a librarian, prefect, secretary and contributed both IT support and promotional material to the UG Society Games 2024 for RAG week where we raised over for charity. I also undertook an internship at my university under the DEI Summer Scholarship 2024 as a student researcher. During this internship, I researched how to better support students with ADHD and created infographics to help increase visibility of the difficulties ADHD adds to pursuing higher education.
