Ashutosh Bhat's journey in the development sector has been instrumental in addressing critical challenges related to safe water, energy access, and environmental sustainability across diverse regions such as Odisha, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. His role as the Thematic Manager for Water and Energy at Gram Vikas since 2014 marked a transition from his earlier position at Larsen & Toubro, where he specialized in integrating solar thermal collectors for power generation nationwide. Prior to this, his research with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy focused on concentrated solar power technologies. Ashutosh's expertise extends to designing, formulating, and implementing projects that leverage appropriate technologies and approaches to address last-mile access challenges in water and energy. In his previous role at Gram Vikas, his contributions spanned rural electrification, biodiversity restoration, watershed and springshed management, implementing drinking water supply initiatives, and fostering energy-linked livelihoods in partner villages. His academic background includes an M.Tech. in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka. The blend of practical experience and academic grounding has significantly contributed to his impact in the development landscape
