Background
About Aspen Handy
I enjoy directing and leading programs in the outdoors that help inspire people of all ages, skills, and demographics to boost their confidence and go outside of their comfort zones while learning new skills. I believe that recreating in the outdoors through therapy, lessons, or in groups does not just teach us how to do an activity or sport; it teaches us intrapersonal skills as well as interpersonal skills. The benefits of outdoor recreation is not just to be fit and increase endurance, you can bring the skills you learn in my programs to your daily life. This strategy is what I believe to be the mission of recreating. I am interested in pursuing careers that facilitate nature-based therapy, wilderness therapy, experiential experiences, and psychology. My skills involve leading, directing, creating, facilitating, training, hiring, guiding, and inspiring participants & employees. I also enjoy marketing, being involved in my community, non-profit work, event planning, volunteering, and meeting new people.
