About Attiqa Syeda

When your personal and professional ambitions can be combined in one place, remarkable things can happen. That’s what Sanad Trust Foundation has allowed me to do for the past decade of my life. As Co-Founder, and Financial & Development Director of Sanad Trust Foundation, I’ve been able to dream big and work with a team that not only shares that dream but works tirelessly towards its reality. Sanad’s mission to positively impact one individual, one family, one community at a time through building one of a kind family education center is unique, innovative and grass roots. It is what keeps me up at night yet allows for a meaningful and restful sleep. Sanad’s vision encompases three areas of work; Sanad Education, Sanad Community and Sanad outreach. This framework seamlessly integrates services that are intergenerational, wholesome and holistic. We believe in taking education back to its roots and purpose, which is positive human transformation and growth. Even after a decade of service, the reason I still remain motivated, passionate and engaged with STF is the following. Remaining focused and giving our best to the small things that no one really sees or acknowledges is what the Sanad Team does day in day out. Witnessing the greatness of those small actions coming together to form a transformative reality for children keeps all of us motivated and focused on the khidmah (service) to this beautiful institution. I graduated from John Molson School of Business, Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) with a degree in Finance. I also hold a certificate in Islamic teacher education program, an affiliate of the University of Toronto. I spent four years as an alimah student studying Qur’an, Arabic language, prophetic life and character, science of hadith and Islamic jurisprudence. I am currently pursuing a non-profit management certificate from the Harvard Extension School. My focus with Sanad has been on designing financial models that complement the organizational design, are balanced, and operate without a deficit. Although I’m relatively new to the development world, I am eager to help grow the work and efforts of the foundation and its local, national and global reach. I oversee that the needs, voices, and advice of the women and families we serve shape Sanad Trust’s development.
