Professional Experience 2019-present- Associate Professor IIT Hyderabad 2011-2019 Assistant Professor IIT Hyderabad 2006 till 2011: Postdoctoral Fellow at the Forsyth Institute, Boston, US, till August 2007. Continuing the same position at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, US. Topic: In vitro biomineralization experiments to comment on the development of Dentin-Enamel Junction (DEJ) in tooth. 2004- 2006: Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Biomaterials, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and interfaces, Potsdam, Germany. Topic: Hierarchical replication of biological materials 2001: Project assistant, the Physical and Materials Chemistry Division, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Topic: Synthesis and characterization of barium titanate based electroceramics via microwave-hydrothermal route Research Interests Nanoparticle syntheses and assembly: Syntheses of nanoparticles with controlled size and their assembly/self-assembly processes. Porous Materials: Generation of nanoporous materials for various applications such as fuel cell components, photo catalysis and battery materials, using various templating techniques Biomineralization: Biomimetic approaches for the generation of materials for mineralized tissue repair. Specialties: Extensive experience in handling of transmission electron microscope (TEM)(more than 500 hours of instrument usage along with expertise in instrument alignment and maintenance) well versed with other instrumental techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), BET surface area measurements, infra-red (IR) spectrometry and thermogravimetry (TGA/DSC)
