As a committed Board Member at Killeen Creators and a graduate student at Baylor University, I've had the privilege of collaborating with dedicated professionals to champion positive change in public health. My recent internship at BeVera Solutions LLC provided invaluable insights into health equity and equipped me with essential skills in health research. With a deep affinity for health promotion and a passion for health equity, I'm committed to making a meaningful impact in public health. At Killeen Creators, I have been working with the crucial intersection of food and mental health disparities through community gardening and social interactions. From starting as an intern, I've now stepped into the position of a Board Member, where I am driving the evaluation of the Community Garden and Wellness programs. My goal? Showcasing the remarkable impact of community gardens and civic engagement interventions on health outcomes to policymakers and stakeholders while securing grant funding. However, I'm not all about public health lingo! I'm diving headfirst into programming languages like SAS, SQL, and Python to supercharge my skills and meld my experiences with a data-driven approach to public health analysis.
