Former Industrial Inspector with the Ministry of Labour and an active firefighter with West Elgin Fire, I bring both operational insight and strategic oversight to every role I take on. My certifications include NFPA 1001 (Level I & II), 1072 Hazmat, 1002 Pump Ops, 1031 Instructor I, 1035 Public Educator I, and EMR Instructor. I am certified in NFPA 1521 Health and Safety Officer certification and hold advanced ICS credentials including Incident Commander, Planning Section Chief, and All-Hazards IMT (O-305). I’m also certified for advanced drone operations by Transport Canada. I run the Safety Consultant firm Pitman Safety Solutions which is a specialized consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations build safer, more resilient workplaces. Founded by Austin Pitman, a seasoned Health and Safety professional and former Ministry of Labour Industrial Inspector, our firm offers practical, compliance-driven solutions tailored to your unique operational needs.
