About Avery Opalka
I am working on my MAsc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. My research is focused on Optical Gas Imaging, using a hyperspectral camera. I'm working between the Department of Engineering and Environment to develop this method for the measurement of methane emissions from wetlands. I recieved my Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2024. I have done multiple co-op terms in R&D of renewable energy storage technology. Outside of my engineering and academic pursuits, I have been involved in student leadership on the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students.
