About Baoling Chen

Passionate about advancing applied research and innovation, I currently serve as the Canadian Bio-Cleantech Applied Research Network (CBARN) Manager, leading initiatives in biomanufacturing and cleantech. In this role, I drive collaborative research projects, develop strategic partnerships, and oversee the efficient operation of CBARN's services. With a solid foundation in project management and technical expertise in chemical engineering, I have successfully managed research programs and secured substantial funding from organizations such as NSERC and the Canada Foundation for Innovation. My commitment to mentorship and education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by my involvement in supervising and mentoring research personnel and students throughout various stages of their academic and professional development. In addition to my academic and research endeavors, I am actively engaged in community initiatives, serving on committees and contributing to organizations focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion, sustainability, and professional development. Recognized for my contributions with awards and accolades, including the Rising Star Alumni Achievement Medal from University of Waterloo.
