About Barb Lauer

Barb Lauer is an adaptive and innovative leader, team builder, trainer, and facilitator. She has over two decades of senior leadership experience in international governance and peace building programs for government, non-profit, corporate and advocacy organizations. Ms. Lauer has managed, implemented, and evaluated programs that encourage the use of democratic principles prior to, during, and immediately after political crises. Critical aspects of these programs have been to encourage meaningful ties between governments and their constituents, engage and strengthen civil society organizations, magnify the benefits of negotiated peace processes, re-establish norms and conditions after natural or human-derived disasters, and reintegrate and protect the rights of vulnerable populations. She is also a trainer and facilitator; conducting workshops, strategic program sessions, and teambuilding events for government, corporate, and program staff in field and headquarter's offices. Ms. Lauer has senior-level international programming experience in 25 locations including Afghanistan, Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Eritrea, Ghana, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Montenegro, Myanmar/Burma, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine.
