Basil Onyia (he/him), CPHR, SHRM-SCP, MBA is a people connector, an equity champion, and an advocate for building bridges between people, workplaces, and their communities. As a senior level HR professional, Basil always comes to the table with a broad scope of experience in strategic HR, talent management, workforce planning, total rewards, culture, engagement, OD & D, HR systems, employee relations, and IDEA & R. Basil’s HR industry exposure includes hospitality, finance, agro-tech, food manufacturing, fin-tech, and SaaS in both the USA and Canada. Basil currently serves as the Manager of People Operations and Development at Redbrick; building strategic, sustainable, and scalable workforce processes, people architecture, learn and development strategies, and systems design across Redbrick's portfolio companies in the USA and Canada. Basil also engages in consulting work from time to time. Basil enjoys staying actively involved with CPHR BC & Yukon, SHRM, serving on Big Brother Big Sisters of Victoria's Board of Directors, volunteering as an Assistant Director for Annie's Hope Center for Grieving Children and Families, and sitting on multiple advisory committees with IEC-BC and ICA geared towards building community relationships and closing employment gaps for the underrepresented workforce population and historically marginalized communities.
