About Bea Barrett

As a public relations strategist and former journalist, I have worked with some of the best PR and media people. My PR approach and accomplishments are all about measurably enhancing my clients' reputation. I think about objectives and intended outcomes before communications methods and channels. I don't push social media activation any more than "traditional" media relations until I understand the identity, needs and attitudes of relevant stakeholders. My PR clients have included technology companies, frugally-funded start-ups and arts organisations. In recent years, I've found myself working with high-end food and tourism businesses. As an expat Australian, I enjoyed many years researching and writing in-depth consumer-orientated features for UK titles including The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Daily Mail, and for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Red, and She. As a business and education journalist, I had regular by-lines in industry-leading titles. On the corporate communications side, I have conceived and written many features for in-house magazines for organisations as well-known as Barclays Bank and Marks & Spencer.
