About Becks Turner

Hey there! Here’s a little bit about my career to date and what interests me when it comes to working in the arts sector. I am a social media manager and content producer with an expertise in developing strategies to engage Gen Z. Being Gen Z myself and having gained experience building this audience for arts organisations, I have an insight into best practises when it comes to reaching young people. I enjoy creating digital content to market live events, engage new audiences and support artists' creative work. I am Senior Social Media and Content Manager at Southbank Centre. I am currently working to develop a new social media and content strategy to reach young and diverse audiences, while also developing content strands that highlight everything the centre has to offer. I previously worked as Content and Social Media Manager at the Barbican Centre. During my time in this role, I introduced a new Content and Social Media Strategy, launched the TikTok account and developed their social media platforms, seeing fast follower growth and increase in engagement. As a performance artist, I produce and create theatre productions with my company G&T Theatre. We create playful and energetic environments for audiences where they are given the freedom to misbehave. We make this environment by experimenting with game structures in live events. We've performed at Camden People's Theatre, Pleasance Theatre, Soho Theatre and Vault Festival with our two shows, Melonade and Avocado on Tits. Alongside producing this work, I also worked as a creative producer having programmed several successful sold-out Young Barbican Nights at the Barbican Centre and a club night at the Yard Theatre.
