About Becky Swannick

Hailing from Birmingham, UK, Becky is an acclaimed Queer Filmmaker, Film Editor and Multidisciplinary Artist currently residing in Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of The Northern Film School, Leeds UK earning a BA with Honours in Film and Moving Image Production (2014). She has been working full time within Post-Production for over 5 years and has been independently Filmmaking for over 10 years, and recently became a 2025 Canadian Screen Award Nominee and Canadian Cinema Editors Award for Best Picture Editing on her co-created digital series, with her other works screening on Canadian networks such as CBC and Bell Fibe as well as doing multiple Film Fest Circuits around the world. Becky Co-Created, Executive Produced and Edited a Bell Fibe Comedy series,'Everybody's Meg' in 2024 and it was greenlight for season 2 coming in 2025. The series has earned 4 Canadian Screen Award nominations including her own nomination for Best Picture Editing. She has also trained and performed in live comedy (Sketch and Improv) for over 8 years with her performance credits including: The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Toronto Sketch Fest & The Second City. As as well her independent Filmmaking, Becky is currently a Picture Editing Apprentice (TAPE) with the DGC (Director's Guild Canada) and works full time as an Online Editor at Eggplant Picture & Sound.
