About Ben Coello

I’ve been obsessed with the power of moving images my entire life. My youthful interest in comics, films and games grew into an undeniable passion and I knew I had to make it my career. I cut my teeth in the independent film business, taking on a slew of roles, including director, director of photography and even writer on a feature film (a work-for-hire piece of schlock entitled “Illegal Aliens” starring the late Anna Nicole Smith - that whole production is an interesting story). From there I jumped at the chance to work in the games industry. I’ve collaborated with and learned from some amazing people and broadened and deepened my skill-set with opportunities to take on even more interesting projects. But my interest and training in film has meant that I always focus on what I believe to be paramount to delivering a compelling experience: clear visual language combined with an eye for high quality. No matter what the project, no matter what tools I’m using, or the restrictions given to me based on time or resources, whether working solo and self-directed or as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, I’ve committed myself to over-delivering whenever possible. My passion and goal in my career has always been about engaging visual storytelling, to find a way to punch through the superficial barriers we build and reach the audience on an emotional level where I believe you can truly leave a lasting impact.
