About Ben Gaffinet
I'm an Applied Physicist who graduated from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2017. Initially my specialty lied with Plasma physics but has progressively shifted. For two years I worked at the European Space Agency where I has my first contact with the world of Earth Observation. At first I worked on hardware before shifting to downstream application. For the past two years I have delved deeper into the applying Machine Learning to create applications based on Earth Observation data.As a next step I am looking to keep the focus on the intersection between Earth Observation and Machine Learning. I'm actively applying for PhDs in the field but am open to stay in the private sector to work on innovative Machine Learning Applications that benefit life on Earth.
