About Ben Stanphill

I have had a great deal of experience in mental and behavioral health agencies and committees at the local and state levels. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to not only learn about healthcare, but also about Native American culture specifically in these fields of study. One of the most prominent here would include the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Indians Behavioral Health Advisory Committee. The Cow Creek Tribe has provided me the opportunity to learn about Native American culture, values, beliefs, and ways of life that influence the meaning of what it means to be well. The Oregon Health Authority Sub committee for addictions and mental health planning and advisory council has also given me a deeper perspective into the ways in which the State of Oregon assists individuals struggling with addictions and mental health issues on a state level. I have also held many positions throughout my time in school and over the summers (Norris Blueberry farm, Seven Feathers Casino and Resort, Circulation assistant, interlibrary loan assistant). I have developed skills and insight from all of these activities, including: customer service, attention to detail, communication, evidence-based research, proficiency in word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, etc.
