About Benjamin Duperre

I am a Junior at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut studying Public Policy and Law. I served on the Trinity College Honor Council and I am also a member of the college’s Pre-Law Society. I was previously a member of the college’s Men’s Track & Field Varsity Team (hammer, discus, weight throw and shot-put) and currently serve as President, captain, and assistant coach of the Trinity College Trap and Skeet Club. During the Summer of 2022 and academic year through 2023, I served as a student-mentor to incoming freshman as part of Trinity’s Summit to Success Program. During the Spring of 2024 I volunteered at two local VITA Tax Clinics as a Tax Policy Intern and tax preparer for members of the Hartford community. During high school I was a well-rounded student athlete who played soccer, lacrosse and threw javelin, shot-put and discus for the track team. I graduated as a member of the Somers High School Beta Club, an academic society. I spent my summers volunteering as a junior counselor at the Star Hill Family Athletic Center’s Summer Sports Camp, mentoring children ages five through thirteen and leading them in various sports and recreational games and activities. My first paying job was at Star Hill, where I continued to work part-time during high school in maintenance, janitorial services and assisting with cafe operations and customer service. Since then, I have gained experience in retail operations and commercial security services working for Orion Protective Services and Allied Universal. My hobbies include restoring, maintaining and modifying both modern and classic V8-powered American cars, taking part in shooting sports, and spending time on the water with family and friends.
