About Bert-Jan Bout

Bert-Jan has broad experience in banking, regulation and building and managing high-performing teams. Having worked as regulator at the Dutch Central Bank and Chartered Accountant at PwC, he has experienced different perspectives on banking and capital markets. He is considered to be a thought leader on (prudential) regulation, IFRS, Internal Controls (inc SOx), ESG and related policy setting. In his current role as Global Head of Policies & Procedures at ING, Bert-Jan is managing a team of 30 FTE responsible for INGs global policies related to external reporting, including IFRS policies, Reporting Control Management (inc SOx, auditor account management), Regulatory Policies & Oversight and ESG Regulatory Policies. Previously roles include- Global Head of Regulatory Policies & Oversight responsible for prudential regulatory policies & ESG policies- Policy advisor at the Dutch Central Bank responsible for international policy setting in the context of Basel and EU regulation; member of several Basel/EBA ommittees in the area of regulatory capital, reporting and leverage-(parttime) Lecturer on IFRS at the University of Groningen, postgraduate MSc degree for Chartered Accountants - Chartered Accountant at PwC: audit manager in banking audits and advisor on financial instruments accounting.
