About Bethany Bohall

Bethany Ann Bohall works in the fields of theater, education, and arts administration. She is also a published writer and mindfulness instructor. Bethany is the Wanda Wiley Atkinson Director of Fine Arts & Upper School Mindfulness/Arts Teacher at Saint Mary's Hall, an independent college preparatory school in San Antonio. Previous employers include the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, and Davidson College in North Carolina, where she oversaw the Royal Shakespeare Company Residency. Bethany holds a BFA in Drama from the University of Miami, a Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a Master of Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from Colorado State University. Bethany is the recipient of the 2020 National Speech & Debate Association Administrator of the Year, SMH’s 2016 Jamie Armstrong Bennett Award, and the Weedsport N.Y. Performing Arts Hall of Fame Award. Bethany's current community-based work includes working as a City of San Antonio Artist Project Grant Panelist and sitting on the Ithaca College Family Council. Early in her career, Bethany worked as an Actors' Equity Association member actor, winning the South Florida Theatre Critics "Best Actress" Carbonell Award in and the New Theatre "Best Actress" Award in 1998. In she played the role of "The Angel" in the Florida premiere of "Angels in America," which won the best production Carbonell that year. Ms. Bohall is an experienced acting teacher and director. Upcoming theatre projects include directing a staged reading of "Bethany" by Laura Marks for 100A Productions at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Bethany is currently pursuing her MFA in creative writing at the University of Texas El Paso. Her short story "Morton" was published in the Catskill Mountains-based "Writers' Advocate" journal.
