Background

About Bethany McLean

I am currently an Early Years Local Authority Engagement Lead at the Department for Education (DfE). In this role, I oversee the Early Years statutory compliance and support of local authorities in the South East and South West of England by horizon scanning for barriers to sufficiency and referring local authorities to our delivery support contract (if appropriate). I have also worked as a Delivery Officer in Regions Group, supporting schools in both Westmorland and Furness and Cumberland throughout the academisation process. I am also the Director of Women's Street Watch Middlesbrough CIC, a community interest company that promotes women's safety and empowerment. I am passionate about creating positive social change and empowering women to achieve their potential. I have strong skills in workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, partnership-building and operational delivery. I bring a diverse and inclusive perspective to my work, and I am always eager to learn new skills and collaborate with others to deliver impactful outcomes.
