About Billy Knockwood

I have over 6 years of experience working with the Government of Canada. A majority of my experience is based out of the Public Service Pay Centre. I started as a student in May 2016, and currently a Resource Analyst since November 2021. I work remotely, where my work location is based in Ottawa, Ontario. My position is English Essential, but I use both English and French to connect and collaborate with everyone on my team. I also have 7 years experience with the Canadian Armed Forces. All 7 years have been with the Cadet program; a program that uses structure and subjects from the Canadian Forces to carry out a program that teaches and engages youth aged 12 to 18. I currently hold the position of Commanding Officer, responsible for managing staff and cadets within the squadron. My tenure for Commanding Officer ends in June 2023. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Prince Edward Island; class of 2017. I was awarded the CIBC Youthvision Scholarship in 2010 that partially paid for my education and gave me a summer job each year while volunteering within my community. My band, Abegweit First Nation, provided me with the additional funding to allow me to focus on my education while not worrying about work and finances. I hope to someday be in senior management within an organization. I wish to lead people and my organization through changes and problems to achieve our best results. It will be interesting to see which industry this will become!
