I began my Chemistry career in 2018 as a Technical Assistant, quickly promoted to Laboratory Technician, and now in a split role between Laboratory Technician and Senior Laboratory Technician. BSc (Hons) qualified chemistry technician with over six years of laboratory experience. Certified for working to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems in Atomic Spectrometry in an Analytical Research Setting. First aid trained, fire marshal, certified for handling and using compressed gases and regulators as well as liquid nitrogen. Responsible for chemical stocks and waste, appropriate storage and timely refreshing of stocks. Trained and experienced in COSHH assessment, comfortable with risk assessment and general health and safety. Associate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (AMRSC). Familiar with and responsible for a range of analytical instrumentation such as FTIR spectrometry, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, CHN analysis, ICP-OES/MS. Competent with appropriate sample preparation techniques for listed analytical determinations. I have also spent two years as an electricians mate from Feb 2012 - April 2014, and I am keen to learn new skills such as carpentry or electrics to open new avenues and workplaces. There is great satisfaction in a day of manual labour that has clear and visible goals and results. As of August 2025 I am seeking a new role, and will update this space accordingly. I am currently interested in chemical analysis within industry or as part of a research team.
