About Blake Costa Rocha

As a graduate from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Linguistics, I believe that my academic integrity and social adaptability were strengthened during my years at the university. While the linguistic classes allowed me to enhance my abilities in data analysis and problem solving, the language classes (Spanish, Arabic, Persian, and Portuguese) required me to adjust my learning approach to the unique characteristics of each language. My involvement in campus organizations such as the Indus Club and Model Arab League provided me with valuable experience in public speaking, diplomacy, teamwork, and cultural awareness. Moreover, I believe that my passion for acquiring knowledge and learning from new experiences was a significant factor in my decision to study a year abroad in Spain at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. My ability to adapt to the new cultures, languages, living situations, and academic environments that I encountered during my year in Spain significantly contributed to my development as a self-reliant and open-minded individual able to meet his scholastic objectives and personal goals. Due to my academic accomplishments at the university, as well as my past experiences overseas, I believe that I have the flexibility, desire, and strength to embrace the many opportunities that will appear along my career path.
