About Blake Houston

I’m the Gulf Coast Campus Pastor of Venture Church, a regional multi-site church in the South Mississippi. In this role I lead the campus' ministries and initiatives, overseeing a team of staff leaders and the campus' systems. Our most exciting work to date at the Gulf Coast campus has been seeing a growth of 174% from Spring 2022 to Fall 2023. Not only did we have fun creating an atmosphere that was conducive to worship, but also we found it rewarding to see the results of people coming to know, love, and follow Jesus. Before joining Venture Church, I worked for two organizations — Pine Cove Christian Camps and The University of Southern Mississippi –- and was fortunate enough to learn critical communication and administration skills that would eventually be utilized in my work at Venture Church. I’m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other pastors & leaders. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, my favorite part is developing other leaders who go on to do incredible things for the Lord. As I go through the mentoring process with a future leader, it is always fun to see things start to "click" in his or her head. I have a BA from the University of Southern Mississippi and a M.Div from Liberty University.
