My passion is furthering opportunities for people with disabilities to discover their dream job through purposeful, inclusive employment. I believe in the potential of every individual to flourish and be successful."In the final analysis, what people with disabilities want and need are services and supports that enable them to work—not benefits and services at the expense of work"(NCD 2020 Progress Report). My personal and professional motivation comes from my daughter with Down syndrome, a 2017 graduate of VCU's ACE-IT in College Program. Through her own determination and the opportunity, she prepared for her first big interview and landed her full-time dream job a week before she graduated! Most personally satisfying accomplishment: Founded and chaired the Ability Beyond the Label (ABLe) Federal Reserve Bank employee resource network in 2011. Led ABLe and the Bank in successful workforce strategies for recruitment, hiring, organizational readiness and disability education. The Bank earned the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) Capital District Champions Award in 2016 and the Virginia Business Leadership Network (VABLN) Rising Star Award in 2017 in recognition of efforts to create a more inclusive workplace. Most challenging and rewarding career accomplishment: Strategic partner in the multi-year transition of Treasury program responsibilities from Richmond to selected Federal Reserve Banks, exemplifying strong business relationship management, organizational change management, risk management and program governance performance. Recognized by the Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors as the role model in the Federal Reserve System for the systemwide transition effort that consolidated 12 business lines and 34 applications from ten Federal Reserve Banks to three.
