About Brad Thiessen
My greatest passion is OutLive (outlivecancer.org). Our young nonprofit helps cancer survivor build healthy and meaning-filled lives by getting active outdoors and connected with others. The project that led to the formation of Outlive was "Proof of Life:": a 22-minute documentary short film dealing with finding hope and purpose coming out of my 2015-16 brain cancer experience and 2 previous cancer experiences. The film was released in November 2018 and has won multiple film festival awards. A 5-minute side project,"Pacing," is linked below. My communications business, flipjacket inc,(flipjacket.com) provides a range of communications services to organizations, primarily small nonprofits, plus writing for outdoor magazine Out There Monthly and co-writing a monthly energy efficiency column for the National Rural Energy Cooperative Association.
