About Brandon Miliate

I build on a background of professional social science research to deliver analysis for various stakeholders on topics ranging from cybersecurity and emerging technologies to digital payments and telecommunications. I am particularly skilled at synthesizing large amounts of information on complex events and delivering an actionable analysis for decision-makers that still respects the complexity of the problem and makes clear what we can and cannot know. I believe that complex problems are, in fact, complex, but that they can be boiled down insightfully without pretending that they are actually simple. As an analyst at the Department of State, as a Specialist Librarian at Yale University, and as an instructor at Indiana University, I have pulled from this skill set repeatedly, building new topical and area expertise along the way.
