About Brendan Simms

2:1 Bs in Computer Applications and Software Engineering from DCU My final year project was developing a serverless application that allowed users to play or host games of bingo entirely remotely. I created this to help Bingo hall customers to still enjoy their Bingo without the need to physically be present in the Bingo hall which was important in the fallout from Covid-19. This app was a full-stack web application, the application was developed using React as the framework, it also incorporated many aspects of cloud computing where we used AWS for our User Authentication and Management system as well as Lambda functions to carry out the PRNG for the game and the random generation of books. This project done very well and got 74%, a 1:1. My favourite sport is American Football and this has lead to a personal project I am currently working on. I am attempting to build a software application that is capable of using Computer Vision and Machine Learning to be able to analyse American football games and be able to provide a breakdown of every play within a game. The information I am hoping this will be able to compile after uploading the video to the software is the Play Type, How many yards are gained, Penalties and Player Identity. This project is still in it's development.
