About Brett Kaiser
I am a biochemist with an emphasis on structure-function relationships of proteins. I have a studied a broad array of biological questions, including: eukaryotic transcription; eukaryotic cell cycle; biophysical analysis of human immune receptors; bacterial transcription factors; metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria; and enzyme engineering of DNA cleaving enzyme for gene therapy applications. In my current position at Seattle U I have two primary goals: 1) provide students with a solid foundation in cell and molecular biology and biochemistry through teaching in the classroom; 2) train students in my research lab with skills and critical thinking abilities that will apply to their future careers.
