About Brian Andrus

Growing up, my most satisfying and enriching play experiences were the ones that I created for myself. Whether I was dismantling toys to modify and rebuild them, or creating games with quirky narratives and clever contraptions, there were no other types of experiences that offered me as much enjoyment, autonomy, and motivation for self-directed learning. I’ve realized that creative design, problem-solving, and play were at the foundation of everything that gave me joyful and enriching learning experiences. Finding Learning Sciences has allowed me to unite my fundamental talents and interests with my professional passions. Now having entered the world of UX Research and UX Design, I’m equipped with not only with my creativity and passion for design, but also with a scientific understanding of how people learn, as well as proven analytical skills and methods suited for constructing data-driven and user-centered designs. When I’m not at work, I still enjoy taking on design challenges in many forms. I dream up and build unique and functional home furniture, rig contraptions to make daily chores fun and enjoyable, and plan outlandish events to enjoy memorable and enjoyable time with friends and family.
