About Brian Freeman

I have spent the past 20+ years in the agricultural and food industry. Utilizing personal financial resources gathered from a successful mortgage banking career, I started Growers Organic, an organic produce and fresh food distribution company. Championing small specialty farm producers and organic focused niche food companies (dairy, meat, grains, etc.), Grower’s provided the valuable link from farm/food & beverage producers to retail/restaurant/food service/food production companies, sourcing domestically and internationally, to ensure that fair trade and terms benefitted the network. Underlying this business, I was on the Organic Standards Committee for the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and Growers was a certified organic operation for 15 years. My related and extracurricular roles also provided for community leadership in the food and ag space, organization of large conferences, advisory activities for many small businesses in Colorado and the Western Region, and preferred vendor status with some of the nations largest retailers, and three years as the co-host of a weekly radio and special events show hosted by I-Heart Radio, called the Modern Eater. Upon sale of Grower’s to a regional distribution company in the Spring of 2020, I have continued my involvement in the industry through consulting and brokerage activities, and maintain an extensive network of relationships stretching from South America to Canada, for growers, producers, restaurants, wholesalers, and retailers.
