About Brian Johnson

Founder and president of Ethnic Expressions, a national developer and distributor of products that speak to the cultural identity of the African American community. Prior to founding Ethnic Expressions, Brian worked for AT & T and Bell Laboratories as a telecommunications engineer. He founded Ethnic Expressions, a Black Art company that eventually grew to operate in 26 states and was featured in O Magazine, Imani Magazine, and on Lou Gossett’s Profiles in Success TV show. Brian believes that all 7.85 billion humans on the earth today are descendants of a common ancestor. Geneticists call her, “Mitochondrial Eve” and she lived around years ago in Africa. As such, men aren’t from Mars… and women aren’t from Venus, because men are from Africa, and women are from Africa. Brian believes that understanding this and knowing the history of the world’s first civilizations in Egypt and Nubia, is what will set the stage for all of us to see each other as human beings. The cosmetic differences that have been the focus of the last 500 years have obscured the scientific fact that we are all part of the same family. This, in turn, has caused incredible amounts of stress, distress, dissension and suffering in our societies and organizations. To that end, the mission of Ethnic Expressions is to spread the word that "we’re all the same under the hood" and should live and work alongside our fellow man in a way that reflects that.
