About Brian Lisk

Hey there! I'm a Connecticut native with a lifelong love affair with technology. My earliest memories involve playing on my dad's vintage X86 PC, and I've been hooked ever since. In the early 90’s we bought a “modern” computer. We thought 16MB of RAM and a 500MB HDD were the pinnacle of tech! I helped my dad upgrade the memory and add a 1GB hard drive. We were sure we’d never run out of space! Fast forward to high school… I was always the first to finish computer assignments, and my teachers often tapped me to help fellow students. Shortly after graduation, I kicked off my professional journey as an intern at NEC Electronics, providing deskside support and rapidly climbing the tech ladder becoming technical lead. From memory upgrades to PBX wizardry, I was there to tackle it all. But my love for technology isn't the only story here. I'm also a die-hard fan of live music and production. My journey took an interesting turn when I joined the production tech team at my church after finding my faith. Starting as an underqualified audio director, I quickly became a respected audio engineer, and my responsibilities expanded to lighting and technical direction. In early 2023, we had a vacant Video Production Engineer role. I took on the challenge, despite minimal video experience. Just like before, I dove in headfirst, learning everything I could as quickly as possible, leading the team with professionalism and excellence. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been working with volunteers. These incredible individuals dedicate their weekends to our shared passion, and I take pride in creating an environment where they feel valued and cherished. Throughout my professional journey, a few key themes have emerged: 1 - I dive deep, becoming an authority on any topic I tackle. 2 - Creative problem-solving is my jam - I love finding solutions others might overlook. 3 - Building strong, positive relationships is my superpower.
