About Brit Steiner

My professional career has been characterized by my energy, dedication and grit. Over the last 15 years, I have served the U.S. Agency for International Development in many capacities through many parts of the organization. I am a proud public servant and passionate about contributing to my country, the State of Ohio and the environment we all rely on. Highlights include: Serving as the Director and Deputy Director for the Office of Policy at USAID - supporting the development of the country's National Security Strategy, as well as policies related to climate change, the People's Republic of China, migration and humanitarian assistance, and other key issues. In Washington I served as the Administrator's Transformation Coordinator - overseeing the largest set of reforms the Agency has ever undertaken, including a complete reorganization of its headquarters. All these roles included representing the Agency in the interagency, Congress, and key external partners. Overseas experience includes serving as Civilian Assistance Coordinator at Embassy Tunis in the months following the Jasmine Revolution. In addition, I served as the USAID Pakistan Communications Director and Donor Coordinator working to coordinate multi-donor infrastructure programs and implement and monitor the Agency’s largest ever media program. This included representing the Agency to the media and reviewing proposals for funding.
