About Bronson McDonald

14 year USAF Pararescueman. My time in the military has been filled with many experiences, opportunities and working partnerships. I have deployed twice to Afghanistan, once in support of operations in Libya aboard the British Naval Ship HMS Ocean and once in support of operations in Africa where I conducted personnel recovery and MEDEVAC/CASEVAC with a total of 200+ patients treated, executing 118 combat sorties. In addition to my deployment experience I am currently finishing out my military enlistment as an Air Education Training Command Instructor for the Pararescue Apprentice course; where I, among many other duties, oversee the largest parachuting program in the Air Force. During my time as an instructor I have served as phase lead for Technical Rescue, Tactical Medical and Final Evaluation Phase. From there, I was given a positional promotion to Section Chief where I was in charge of Air Operations and Final Evaluation Phase; which are the most leadership heavy and logistically demanding sections within the Pararescue Apprentice course. Furthermore, during my time as a Pararescue instructor I attended a technical writer course which enables me to curate curriculum. Additionally, I completed the Air Force ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluation) course and BIC (basic instructor course). With the knowledge gained from these courses I am able to not only curate and design curriculum, but implement and teach the curriculum. Instructing has been something that I have grown to enjoy and love. Finally, though PJ’s are considered to be a ‘Jack of all trades,’ and while that is true of me, I am seeking the opportunity to grow and advance my skill set.
