About Bryan Taylor

Over the past thirty years, I've enjoyed teaching and being a part of the British Columbia Institute of Technology's educational team performing in various influential roles. These roles and positions focused on providing leadership in critical areas within our school and institute to improve educational and operational quality. The roles allowed me to develop many skills while guiding and directing staff, creating collaborative teams, and managing countless projects. These projects focused on creating better communication, coordination of resources, and mechanisms to support our Faculty Instructors. These benefits helped us in being able to deliver better consistency in educational quality to our faculty, students, and stakeholders. Some key benchmarks accomplished were the development of new education and operational standards and systems that guided our school curriculum development, design, educational delivery, student engagement activities, assessment, and instructional resource management. I've always enjoyed working in teams and leading the charge with new initiatives while developing people to their best potential and seeing results. I've always enjoyed adventure, spending time outdoors, traveling, boating and fishing, or even racing cars. The passion lives on, which tells me I'm right where I should be. I've always had a desire to make a difference in everything I get involved with and it seems the tougher the project the more rewarding it can be. When I first started at BCIT in 1993 I was instrumental setting up and delivering post secondary education in two High school satellite campuses. I'm also an active member of the school’s quality assurance strategy that supports educational best practices in business management and quality assurance systems. The team focus has always been to continuously improve our stakeholders educational experience by bench marking Quality Education with provincial, national and international recognized accreditation's. Building and developing relationships with a internal and external stakeholders, including the ITA, and assisting in quality related issues, processes and standards has really been rewarding.
