About Bryce Leary

Bryce Leary is a MEL Specialist in the Office of Country Support in USAID's Bureau for Resilience and Food Security. He supports USAID Missions with technical assistance to improve their MEL practices and generate actionable data in the field. Prior to joining USAID, he developed programs for out of school youth in the Omaheke Region of Namibia and engaged in skills transfer to the grassroots volunteers of Namibian Partnership Solutions. He previously served in Senegal as a Peace Corps Volunteer, extending sustainable agriculture techniques and supporting his colleagues in their MEL work for Feed the Future programs. He graduated from the International Development Program at American University, where he studied monitoring and evaluation, and conducted research on food security. In addition to his international experience, Bryce has worked as an educator in the United States. In Maine, Bryce worked in outdoor education, teaching conservation and sustainable farming techniques through a place-based education model. In central New York, Bryce led teaching artists who delivered arts-based education programs in local schools. He is an avid canoeist, enjoys caring for his plants, and can often be found reading a good sci-fi or high fantasy novel - the longer the better.
