About Caleb Bloomfield

My name is Caleb Bloomfield and I am a journalist based in New York City. I recently earned my master's degree in journalism from New York University. Under the guidance of renowned journalists, I learned both basic and advanced methods of reporting, whether in investigative journalism or longform narrative styles. I have incredibly rich experiences in journalism, from the master's program at NYU, to covering live music events. Even in the live setting, for which I have covered the performances of (just to name a few) Jay-Z, Pharrell, Red Man, Pusha T, Raekwon the Chef (of Wu-Tang Clan), Jay Electronica, I have remained professional and acutely aware of my surrounding, providing accurate, yet gripping, perspectives on these events. While writing stories during my time at New York University, those capabilities were greatly challenged, as I wrote stories that broke the mold of music. I wrote stories that explored the intersectionality of culture and race, taking a critical look at how music can be explored on a deeper level than just songs and albums. Additionally, I wrote political stories that have nothing to do with music, such as an investigation into a political fraudster, and a Black Lives Matter protest that took place in the Cajun corners of South Louisiana. I have proven to be adaptable, excited and willing to cover any and all stories.
