About Cameron Kane

For the last 15 years, I've worked with telecoms OSS/monitoring providers to create class leading telecoms detail record analytics suites. These companies have demanded that we marry database and more recently big data platforms with analytics and visualisation technologies in order to make sense of the telecoms detail records that are extracted from the network monitoring systems. This technique allows that information to be orientated around customer experience, network planning, revenue opportunity detection and cost management of existing resources. More recently, big data technologies have become increasingly commercialised and have critically opened themselves up to more traditional analytic and visualisation technologies. The controlled introduction of these technologies (specifically Hadoop and its ability to provide an ability to analyze structure and not only unstructured data) is key to creating a cost effective data platform for the analysis of the peta-byte level of data involved in monitoring telecoms networks. It is in the design of these architectures that I specialise. I have a track record in designing, marketing and selling these type of solutions across several of the leading OSS monitoring vendors. Being able to combine a domain knowledge in Telecoms assurance with the application of the analytics technologies is a key advantage I bring to organisations.
