If a plastic covered couch were to gain sentience, go through art school, and come out the other end as a fully-fledged illustrator, I’d imagine it would produce art a bit like mine. I’m Cameron Phillips, a DC-based illustrator whose art is described as looking like it would taste like the most mouth-puckeringly sour candy on the shelves. My inspirations include music videos, manga, nature, book illustrations, old movie posters, vintage ads, and fantasy, with a healthy dose of complementary color palettes to tie everything together. Through a mix of typography, portraiture, digital collage, traditional media, and analog manipulation, I create work that is energetic, bold, and unapologetically maximalist.
