Background

About Candace Rutherford

Highly motivated, well-connected professional in the plastics recycling industry for over 25 years. Developed feedstock relationships in the early stages of post-consumer and post-industrial recycling. Past employers describe me as 'trustworthy' and 'incredibly efficient at identifying and managing accounts.' I worked remotely before virtual meeting platforms were available and am very self-driven.During my career, I recognized there were many plastic streams that do not have a good home. I see advanced plastic recycling technologies as the next logical step to recovering previously 'non-recyclable' plastic. It is the missing piece to help complete recycling goals and initiatives for industries and the public sector.I negotiate feedstock agreements and specifications. Other responsibilities include involvement in trade organizations and recycling groups to inform and promote pyrolysis. I also follow current events including legislative trends that affect industry growth potential. I am proficient in Salesforce where I developed and continuously update a polymer/supplier database for hundreds of supply streams. I also support development projects with research and waste characterization studies.
