Contact: email: cspuch@uvigo.es mobile phone: 0034 679461538 / Lab phone: 0034 986217465 ORCID: • Description: The laboratory is working on several lines of research, one of which seeks to investigate the relationship between the functioning of the immune system and its relationship with the functioning of the central nervous system in diseases of psychiatric origin, such as major depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. In relation to this line, we are looking for peripheral biomarkers in the cells of the immune system that may have diagnostic, prognostic or predictive value in response to treatment in psychiatric and neurological diseases. To this end, we use techniques such as shot-gun proteomics, imaging techniques or EEG. Finally, we investigate breast milk as a potential source of new molecules that can be used to treat the central nervous system, either by modulating the formation of neurons or by reducing neuroinflammation.
