Background

About Carolin Hirsch

Currently, I am working on the completion of my doctoral dissertation, which will also result in my first monograph. The preliminary title is "Rebel Becoming. Activism as reaction to infrastructural violence in urban Yangon." After completing my Master of Arts in Sociology at the University of Konstanz in 2017, I switched to ethnology and political anthropology for my PhD. My focus is on qualitative research on activism, infrastructural violence, and urban space. My profile banner shows me in 2019 during my long-term ethnographic research in Yangon, Myanmar, while talking to local activists. I have published some of my research findings so far in the form of academic and informative articles. My texts outside of academic publications are in the field of political education, as they address current political issues and analyze and discuss structural backgrounds. Furthermore, I am currently active in cultural education as a cultural mediator at the Archäologisches Landesmuseum Baden-Württemberg in Konstanz. Since April 2022, I have been a fellow at "The Writing Academic".
