About Caroline Celis

With a background in tropical agriculture I became an aid professional. After having worked for various International NGOs such as Oxfam, Plan International and Red Cross, I am currently enrolled as guest professor Occupational Safety and Health. I work from Brussels, but I have previously worked in countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, and most recently in Cameroun and the Central African Republic. As a member of the the Red Cross Benelux Relief Emergency Unit, I conduct emergency deployments I dream of a world free from violent conflict, where our future children can grow up without the fear of neither climate change nor human rights abuses. Moreover, I strongly believe that gender equality, as well as equal representation across ages and ethnicity is the way forward to a better planet for all. Problem solving and change management are my most developed skills. On top of that, I am a strategic thinker who has excellent inter-personal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations and influence people in a multicultural environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity. I have a proven ability and experience in the development and management of large emergency and development programs. For example, I have experience with strategic planning, fund raising, management of big budgets, security management, remote management of large teams, as well as developing effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders
