Background

About Caroline Dobson

Throughout my academic journey, I have engaged with children in care, those who have experienced school absenteeism, and individuals affected by domestic violence. I have witnessed the disintegration of foster placements and have had discussions with young people regarding the impact of their words, particularly in relation to bullying and its widespread effects. I have also interacted with youth who have engaged in self-harm, successfully establishing a foundation of trust that encourages them to seek my support when needed. I have observed both the struggles and achievements that young people encounter on a daily basis, which has led me to consistently maintain a demeanour that is calm, open, and approachable. My experience includes working with young individuals facing family disruptions and emotional challenges, whether they are temporary or long-lasting. Currently, I am involved with asylum seekers within the community and am conducting research on how they may find refuge at Bolton train station during their journeys.
