About Casey Slevin

Law and Criminal Justice LLB Aspiring lawyer with a keen interest in the international and domestic practice of Family and Childcare law - concerning both private practice and public proceedings. I also have a strong interest in Court of Protection, International Human Rights and International Legal Policy development; ignited by lifelong activism and undergraduate work experience within local/international government. I currently hold post as a Legal Officer within Liverpool City Council. I have attended and spoke at conferences in Barcelona, Ireland and Great Britain, advocating for the legal rights of Women in Ireland pertaining to bodily autonomy, and the historic abuse of women and children in the Magdalane Laundries. Throughout my studies I have chosen elective modules that would deepen my understanding of the legal implications of injustices in Ireland, USA and the Middle East, and the ways in which the law can be utilised as both a tool of liberation, and a tool of oppression. This area of academia is extremely invigorating for me and I aim to continue developing my interest in this area. Campaigner for social mobility within the legal field as well as an ardent supporter of increased funding for Access to Justice services.
