About Cathy Lee

My career in urban and regional planning has had me working on projects that support communities, organisations and government to integrate the environmental, economic and social aspects of development. My experience ranges from individual site design and development assessment, due diligence, to master planning and infrastructure delivery, and strategic policy formulation. After a career break raising my young family, I worked with Lee Development Planning in the SEQ property development sector across a range of commercial, retail, industrial, heritage and residential projects. Currently I job-share the Principal Planning Officer role within the Social and Affordable Housing Growth division of the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works. In this role I advise on town planning matters relating to the department’s property portfolio and housing delivery targets, and manage the public housing approvals process. I supervise a team that is responsible for a variety of planning activities, identify development opportunities and risks for the department’s property portfolio, provide advice and prepare reporting, and work with a variety of stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams for the delivery of social housing.
