At Farmers Market Pros, supporting farmers market managers, community associations, small farmers and food makers to grow their own financially sustainable businesses and events is both my business and my passion. Farmers Market Pros offers face-to-face and online classes for farmers' market start-ups and experienced operators. My co-hosts and guests offer tips and insights weekly on Tent Talk: The Farmers Market Podcast. And InTents: The Farmers Market Conference brings market managers, community developers, farmers and food makers from throughout the US, Canada and beyond to San Diego for 3 days each year to take advantage of food system experts and authors, new resources, and networking with fellow farmers market professionals. They go home invigorated and ready to increase their profits and reduce stress. I launched San Diego County's largest farmers market in 2008 for a purely self serving reason: I wanted to be able to buy fresh food without leaving my Little Italy neighborhood. Then, it was a block and a half long. Now it's a weekly event with six city blocks full of California farmers and food makers, and enthusiastic shoppers from the neighborhood and around the globe. It's an important year-round fundraiser for the thriving Little Italy Association. Serving as a director on nonprofit boards lets me support the small farms, food systems and independent businesses that feed us all, and the neighborhoods that celebrate them. I'm an experienced entrepreneur and consultant with a demonstrated history of success in farmers' markets, special events and community development. Skilled in Entrepreneurship, Event Management, Public Speaking, Marketing and Start-ups with a focus on food and farm related goods and services, entrepreneurship, public markets and community building.
